Lone Star Motorsports Park "True Street"

So lastnight we gathered up a group of people from the Austin/Bastrop area, ate at the Roadhouse for pre-drive lunch, and headed down to Lone Star Motorsports Park in Sealy, about 45min from Bastrop.
A really good friend of ours Todd (The Voice of LSR) the announcer was the one and only original employee left since new ownership (John Hennessey, yes the Viper guy) took over.
Well after five years Todd decided to call it quits, so we all gathered together to send him off on a fond farwell.
Although he may not be The Voice anymore we will see him in the digs, good luck Todd you'll need it
On the same note, I had brought some track newbies with us and introduced them to the straight line action and bracket racing, these three newb's just did test and tune runs where-as myself was provoked to come out of remission again and run a "True Street' class lastnight.
Mind you I went purely for business, promotions, photography, and driving instructions for our newly hooked racers.
So I went and paid my tech fees and lined up in the staging lanes for a dog-eat-dog battle that lasted all night, the weather consistanly changing, and the temps plumeting to the ground with a sky rocketing dew point which made me have to change my dial every single round eyes:
To shorten this up and bit, when it came right to it, in the final round here was the battle of battles, Tom (XLRVIII) and I were the last men standing, Tom is an excellent bracket racer and has been doing so for many, many years, I mantain and mod his car and have been since forever, so I know how consistant this thing runs, and what Tom is capable of.
With our cars dialed-in we approch the lights and put on our game faces, he nails me out of the gate with a lazy .0500 light, I try and run himout the back end hoping he'll break out but, to no avail he hands me my own ass with a finish margain of .0454
All said and done Tom gets the white slip and me the yellow as we motor over to collect our winnings, Tom being the nice guy gladly splits the winnings 50/50, insted of 60/40 and pays me my dues of $60 for the evening, we then proceed over to the winner's box and get our picture taken with both cars and us shaking hands, specialvehicleoperations.com put three cars in the races and two of them finished 1 and 2 when all the blood was finally spilled.
Lara one of our Test and Tuners, took to the straightline action like a fat kid on a cupcake, after I got her a drive-a-long instruction pass down the track, and a two-way radio instruction from the stands, she grabbed the riens and showed us what she was made of, she went on to battling the light to the tune of .021 and stellar runs of low 14.20's all night in her CAI, full exhaust, and automatic shifted 04' GT, she was almost unbeatable all night except for a couple of red lights and the Grey Ghost MarkVIII, she picked a fight with on the way to the track :p:
Fun was had by all, and a fullfilling post race dinner found some great conversation, getting home at 3am is still commanding some "swill" coffee to get back in the groove for the day.
Here's a few pictures, I'll post more as the rest of the adventure's wake and host them, hope you enjoy
