New Debit Card....

Ok, thought this was interesting. I get a new check/debit Visa card in the mail a couple of days ago. There had been a mix-up when we first opened our account and just thought that it was another one. Well, I called our credit union today and come to find out, they did issue me a new card for a reason.

It appears that some business that I used my card at, keeps the numbers on record in their systems. Their system got hacked into and the card information stolen, so to protect me, they issued me a new card. :shock

I didn't know that businesses kept records of the card numbers in their databases. :-x That is just asking for something to happen. I am just glad our credit union knew about it and protected me. I just wonder now which business it was. :roll

We keep the CC numbers on file at lowes for 3 months. Only Few have access to them. We have to keep them on file in case you dispute a charge the computer can log the purchase made at our store and can be recorded on Video camera to show who made that purchase so if your card is stolen. We and punch it in and see who swiped that card. It also logs if a CC was swiped or keyed in on the System. I have access to a lot of CC #'s as I get phone orders with CC all the time.
