Well I tryed to test fit the trans today but it would not fit between the body and radius arm crossmember. And since my pipe stands are in Victoria I could not pull the crossmember to put the trans

Today Russell spent time extending the PCM harness 48" so the PCM will be in the stock location...

Wow, the PCM is 48" away in this model versus later models?

Seems like a lot of wasted effort when you could just located it closer to where the harness would have reached, and built a water proof box around it etc, no?

You couldn't just keep it in the engine bay?

We are mounting the pcm in the stock first Gen location by modifying the second Gen engine bay harness and converting it to a hybrid first Gen harness. Its all very simple

What's hybrid about it?

No, it's a second gen harness from a 97 mountaineer that we are retrofitting to 'act' as a first gen harness by utilizing the first gen firewall connector but remaining largely intact as a second gen harness (relay boxes, PDB, Ect) negating the use of the first gen harnesses (2).

How does it 'act' as a first gen harness?

Well, it's hard to explain. When i get home,i guess i could upload photos of the wiring diagrams and spreadsheets that will explain it better

I don't know what you want from me bud.
um, the second gen harness will replace the first gen harness and act as the replacement for the first gen harness by incorporating the first gen firewall connecotr (the big round plug) and the secondary connectors (think ac blower motor, frame harness, etc) into it. Doing it this way will make the body/dash harness play nice with the (1) engine bay harness just like it would with the (2) first gen engine bay harnesses
