Got the new 4.10 rear axle in with the Spartan locker. I also filled it with royal purple oil for good measure. Did wind up having to cut off the driveshaft bolts on the old axle. For some reason heat, lubrication, and 500ft-lbs of torque could not spin those bolts. Gonna have to drop by ford to pick up some replacements.

Sounds like you put an impact on them and still couldn't get them loose? I guess the resident T-800 put them on there.

That is my guess. :p Had a problem with my brakes yesterday and today. Forgot to put new copper crush washers on the connections when I reinstalled the calipers. Left a nice trail of brake fluid on HWY 59. Had to call in today as my fix yesterday failed and I had no pedal this morning. FML! In any case after a brake bleed and the rear brakes are fine. The front brakes on the other hand still need to be bled, but I am afraid of rounding off the bleeders since FORD in their infinite wisdom didn't use a standard wrench size for removing them.

The trick is get a socket and break the bleeder loose, then use the box end to open and close the bleeder valve

Ok finally some progress, because of the inherent stupidity of Chrysler transmission builders, the Ram's slush box went out and I was forced to get Red ready to go.

-New Rancho RS5000's all around
-New lower balljoints
-New outer tie rod end
-New 4.10 D35 with pinion seal replaced
-Finished installing the rear driveshaft bolts
-Installed new LED lights on bullbar
-Removed spare tire winch

All that's left is to install the passenger window motor and give her a good cleaning.

I am looking at getting a trailer hitch and one of those nice swing away spare tire holders for the 33 eating up my cargo space.
