The design of this one is less likely to leak now. And the sunroof has a roof support built into it it's no weaker then if was factory and lastly ill have a sunshade with the new one which was missing in the old one

Well, made some progress on Goldie yesterday. We removed the driver door harness saturday night so we could add the following features to the truck and modify it in such a way to look as factory as possible:

Heated Puddle Lamps
One-touch Down for the window
Keyless entry keypad
Memory seat function

After stripping most of the harness, i wired in the green plug for the keypad and created a new 14-pin connector to go through the door jamb just for the features we were adding all while using the same wire colors and pins. This will make it easier for future diag if needed. Next I spliced in the one touch down module. I also repinned the white 3-pin mirror connector to be a 8-pin black plug for the heated puddle lamp style mirror. After everything was wrapped up nice and tidy, I moved to wiring in the rest of the memory seat functions.

A standard power seat in a first gen has just two wires going to the seat, Hot at all times and ground. A memory seat from a 93-97 explorer has 11 wires going to it (3 power, 2 ground, 6 for the memory switch), so of course extra work was needed to make it function properly. Having used the same wire colors in the new door jamb connector made this a snap to install.

Earlier this week, we modified the 92 Eddie Bauer seat frame to accept the memory seat wiring/driver seat module. There is a considerable difference in design between the limited and eddie bauer seat frames, so a support bracket had to be welded into the eddie bauer seat in order to house the DSM. Once that was completed, a test fit of everything was performed and Wa-la, the driver seat memory functions were operating normally as well as the puddle lamp and one touch down relay.

the next item to do is source out a 93-95 taurus keyless entry module to install in the truck so Goldie can have a factory like remote keyless entry system with factory keyfob and door keypad.

With the help of Russell We have started the electrical upgrades on Goldie. The goal is to get the wiring in and working before starting the body work and prepping for paint.

some of these upgrades required welding and cutting of sheet metal to allow for some of these upgrades.

Which include:
97+ power sunroof
96 Memory Seats
00 Heated Puddle lamp mirrors
Factory keyless entry with door key pad.
One touch down for the driver side window

Not at present. But wiring up the second puddle lamp will be much easier as the heated rear glass circuit wire runs right long the passenger side floorboard. So getting the wires and pins and what not is a cake walk.
