How many vehicles did you have to move to get to it? Why a manual, are you a glutton for punishment?
I think if I was going to do it all over again, I'd go with a c4 with c5 bellhousing, torque converter and flexplate.

Is this the one you're planning on offroading? If so, eeeeeeek on the manual. That's a lot more work than I wanna do on trails, make it hard to hold your beer while trailing, I mean water bottle...lol.

The top end of the motor is off and been cleaned I'm planning on having. The auto trans out this weekend. I will also pull the motor reseal it and reinstall all new gaskets and radiator.

This truck has rusty rocker panels looks like ill have to cut and tuck in some rock sliders!!!

So today the transmission and the front clip came out if the explorer. pulling the motor out tomorrow. Hoping to start putting the motor and the new trans back in in the next week or two

Cutting back the fenders to allow for the bigger tires and trimming the inner fenders.

I think you should A) Sell one of Russell's trucks so you can get your SOHC or B) Just take one of Russell's SOHCs, so you can C) write up a SOHC swap article for the site.
