This was over on CTS...
Since I bought my new Sport Trac, it's time for the old one to go.
Vital Details:
1994 Ford Explorer Sport (2dr)
4.0 V6, 5spd manual
178k miles
Maroon/Grey Interior
Power Windows, Door Locks, and Cruise control - all functional!
Body is in good shape other than rock chips on the front of the hood and a dent and key mark on the passenger door. Paint is shiny!
Interior is fairly clean. Driver's seat needs new foam bottom. Clarion CD head unit with Rockford Fosgate speakers all around.
Engine had a head gasket failure at 132k miles. Put on 2 brand new cylinder heads and also replaced ignition module and water pump. Absolutely zero engine problems since. Gets 19MPG in Houston stop/go traffic and mixed highway. I've done several 1000+ mile road trips with no problems.
The "bad" - Heater core is out. It's bypassed right now so car can be driven with no problems. AC has a minor leak. Put in a brand new evaporator core ($200) last summer, but have a leak elsewhere (minor). There's a clunk in the front end, probably some bushings in the front I-beam suspension. The radius arm bushing have been replaced, but it is something else.
Red light special price is $1500 as is. If I fix the AC and heater core your price goes up to $2000.
