Since I I will be taking the Mounty to Moab. I figured it would be a good idea to get a little extra approach angle on the Front. Also it would be a shame to tear up my stock plastic bumper. So I went out and got a 97 Mountaineer steel bumper for $27.00 out at LKQ, sanded it down, removed the chin spoiler, drilled holes to mount up some PIAAs I already had, and welded halves of washers to get the right angle of lights to point straight ahead.
I will paint it to match Saturday.

This may be just me talking out my ass, but wouldn't it be better to have the PIAA's mounted at minimum on the top of the bumper cover, so they're not destroyed by debris in the front that low? Other than that what color?

There is not enough clearance in front of the grill to mount them on top. It will be the charcoal green lilt my stock one

Are you taking measurements of the before and after approach angle?

So I completed the off road bumper project.
Here is the final product
Ground clearance with old bumper was about 16.25"
New bumper is about 22.75"
All that I have left for the mounty is the cb install and it's ready for Moab

Those extra inches should come in handy. How about your approach angle?
