I want to say 3.25" but I'm not sure. Use the shocl mount with the post mount on it. The other type which Randall and I have will cause the shocks to bind, limiting travel.

Shock Mount 98201

I don't know my shock number off hand, but it is too short anyway. The best thing is to get your shock mounts on and then flex and measure. FWIW I am not going with Ranchos my next time out. They are a little unimpressive too me, on both the Ex and the F250. I may try bilsteins or doeshtech (not spelled right ) The new 9 speed Ranchos may be good, I haven't heard anything about them yet.

I have 9112's front and rear. Yes, it is a 3.25" tube. I like my Rancho's. I think they are pretty good for a cheap ass shock.

Kris I would be happy to help you get everything lined up and tacked into place for the spring perches. I don't trust my welding skills with your safety in that area. After you get the axle under the truck I'll be glad to weld the shock mounts on for you.

Michael,

I ordered the parts from Mountain off-road. Since you know a bit more then I do on this Stuff. Could I have the Perched welded on before installing the Axle. Just having them welded on the Other side of the Stock ones. If I can do that I can have the Perches done then install the Shock mount after getting the axle back in the truck.

or would have cause pinion angle problems?

The Axles are getting regeared right now. Sould have them back by the end of the week.

I would put the axle on the truck and bolt your spring hangers down onto the perches, after correctly setting your pinion angle, and then have it welded on.
I did this to mine and then drove it to a shop to have it welded. I tightened the hell out of those ubolts, and drove slow, but you get the idea.

Since you are running a nonCV drive shaft you want the pinion angle to be the same as the Tcase output, ie. parallel. Which should be the way it came factory. You should be able to have them weld the new perches on parallel to the old ones and be fine. This is what it looks like was done to mine. The old and new mounts are parallel, more or less. A 4 door shaft is long enough to not vibrate if the angles are not dead on. Shock mounts can be done at any time, but I reccomend doing them with the axle in the truck to get the angles right.

I got the Axles back today and my spring over parts came as well. The Shock mounts are too small and would have to be modified to would on the bigger axle tube. I am going to use the shock mount bolt that came on the Weld on shock mounts and attach them via the old sway bar brackets. By doing this I raise the shock mount a bit higher and I would get the binding either. I plan to bolt up the axle then drive it slowly to a 4x4 or blacksmith to have them welded on.

I took the X to the blacksmith today to have my Welding done. It kinda helped that the guy that did the work builds 4x4s for fun as well. He also figured a way to use the Shock mounts from mountain off-road.

looking good Kris. Do those shock mounts hang below the axle tube. It looks like they are close enough to the diff to be protected, but I'm not sure I like em below the axle.

With the brake hard line in the way it would have been hard to put them up top. If I have any problem with this set up I am sure I can change it. The guy that set up the weld said the way it is set up it would take more then 7000 lbs. of pressure to break them off. I am sure I will end up breaking them one day though. I drove the truck last night but besides the fact it is shaking very bad the Truck has much better braking and the 5.13s are really nice as well.
