5" Super lift brackets for the front w/harware
Coil springs
Shocks
Drop pitman arm
Steering dampener
Front/rear brake lines
OAS axle perches
------------------------------------------------
These should come in any "lift kit" that you buy over the counter. Superlift and Skyjacker both offer the 5-6 inch lift. For wheels I am in favor of 15X8 for a 33 inch tire. 3.5-3.25 backspace will put them even with or just outside the fender and should minimize trimming needed. I have the 15x8 MickeyThompson Classic II's that were on my truck before the SAS sitting in my garage needing a new home . They are a little rough but still decent. Pinion angle should stay the same with the spring over, you don't have a CV joint in the rear shaft right?. The new perches get welded on parallel to the old ones. I would definately go 4.56, as far as prices I can't help on that. When I did my original build up I sourced everything through a shop here, not Texas Auto Gear. I payed a little more, but I am loyal like that. This is a little out of Texas Auto gears element. They are more custom oriented, and you will pay a lot more than if you get it all yourself. For a front locker I ran a Detroit EZ locker that I got at 4Wheel Parts. It and the Lock Right both list about $250. If you have an open rear carrier on your lot you can get a lock Right for the rear as well at about the same price versus 400 for the No Slip for the trac lok carrier.

I think I got it all covered, but if it is not clear ask again

Jeff,

Don't you want to get some Warn manual hubs too.
Last weekend it seemed you were going through autohubs like underwear. And you were all stock.
Adding larger tires and a locker might make you go through autohubs like beer.

Just a thought. But the other guys on this board will know better than me, since I'm just a no hub kind of guy.

What's a set of newish 4 door leaves worth? Possible trade?

I was thinking $150 for the wheels. Like I said they are a little rough. There are a few scratches in the out lip of each one from rocks and some in the inner surfaces, but they should still clean up and look good. I am willing to trade for the leaves.

If you're looking to get the lift new, the cheapest place that I found it back when I did my 5.5" superlift was at tyres1.com but it doesn't look like they have skyjacker.

I'd order it without shocks and get some Rancho RS9000's so that you won't need sway bars. It comes with drop brackets, drop pitman arm, coil springs, sway bar drop brackets, shocks, and SOA axle perches. The shocks are pretty much junk though. Tyres1 has the superlift kit for 645 with shocks, you'll have to call and ask the price without. Also get the extended brakelines. I'll get the part numbers for the Rancho shocks that I used with my 5.5 lift when I get home. You may want to measure for yourself, but at least it will give you a starting number.

If you need help with the install, I wouldn't mind lending a wrench or two

Oh yeah, I would also recommend extended radius arms, but they can always be added on later. SkyJacker arms are better than superlift.

Edited by: Demon4x4 at: 7/9/03 7:53 pm

I lack original thought, they look kind of weird. You can't get much use out of them without the mounting brackets. So if you can get Rancho to send you the brackets, or make your own, then go for it. Otherwise, I'd keep looking.

That's what I'm talking about, the only reason that I was looking at thoes arm were that he had a really cheap price on them, but I guess now I know why.

So you got the RS9000's for a 5" lift in the front then used the stock ride RS9000's for the rear and just mounted them to the sway bar location correct?

Edited by: Special Vehicle Operator at: 7/10/03 6:41 am

check this one, only a 4 inch kit as opposed to a 5.5, bt you should still be able to fit 33 with some trimming.

66.227.24.111/forums/show...adid=82316

I got them for a 6 inch lift since I got the spacers at the same time. The rear shocks were 9112's which are pretty close to stock length.

I say go with the 35's and a little trimming. I wouldn't worry about the bearings and stuff in the d35, since you plan on doing a SAS anyway Michael ran 35's on the TTB for a long time and never had any real issues with them, other than having to tighten the spindle nuts frequently. Eventually he burnt out a spindle, but you wouldn't have any trouble finding those.

Quote:
33's were about what I wanted to go with, I hear way too many problems with bearings and 35's.

There is one sitting in my garage already. I just haven't had time to put it in yet. If you are looking to throw more stuff in, a set of ranger leaves would be cool so that I can add the main leaf to my ex pack. If i need to toss in some cash in addition to the wheels let me know. Like Randall said above, if you want help with the lift install let us know, I did one on a previous truck.

We can set something up. Is it looking like you are going to get your lift and stuff done in time for Gilmer? If not I can bring the wheels to you there and swap them for the springs. If you need them before that it can be arranged.

Hey Jeff, if I were you I'd pass on the front traclok for $140. You could get a full locker for $250 (ezlocker, or lock right) that would perform a lot better than the trac lok. If you're going to do it, do it right. Put in lockers front and rear. Just my opinion, of course.

EZ Locker and Lock Right can both be found at 4Wheel Parts in the 250 range. I had the EZ Locker, Kris G still has the EZ Locker. It has an effect on turning in the rocks, but it is something that you get used to. It won't take you long at all to learn how to modulate the throttle to get the locker to unlock so you can turn.
