I like that alot better Kris. I think that will help to actually protect the body now instead of flexing up into it.

still have the $$$ issue. Not to mention I might have to replace the torque converter in the green Truck. As soon as the torque converter releases the motor to idle I am hearing nasty noises from the bellhousing. It is shifting in to OD fine now.

The bell housing noise might be the Torque converter ribs rubbing like they were before. Before buying a new one (if the fluid is good in the one you have ie. not burnt or full of metal shavings) my suggestion would be to remove it and slightly grind down those ribs and see if that stops the noise. I doubt that doing so will harm the integrity of the converter at all.

That is cool that your sliders should be here in time. I'll just have to bash up my rockers. Let me know if you need a hand with the install.

I had my ford Guy hear the noise today. He said that ont he A4LD the Ribs rubbing like that before you install is normal. He told me to install the parking pawl and look for lose parts out side the Tranny. He said if the noise continues to drop the pan and look for metal shavings.

I would say go with Herculiner. Mine don't really get used as steps, so I just spray painted mine.

I would say Herc too, but you will spend plenty of time reapplying it after it gets rubbed off. I have started just spraying the spots where my Herc gets rubbed off with black paint. I would suggest flat black spray paint and then put skate board grip tape on the top surface. It comes in sheets and you can cut it to the size that you want. Very durable as well.

Cool suggestion Michael.
That's kind of what I had in mind in the first place. Hopefully I can find it in red to keep the black and red theme going.
I'll have to visit Academy soon.
