We made cuts in the oil pan to make a small sump to hug the drop brackets and we are welding up two holes in the James duff bracket and drilling two new holes in the bracket to get the motor to drop down in the engine bay

So is the welded piece going to be recessed in the pan? Is that going to limit your capacity and effect it in any manner?

If it effect capacity it would be less then a 1/4 of a quart so it's a marginal loss

So after months of head scratching looking at the motor in the engine bay and wondering why is this thing so flippin high in the engine bay. These aftermarket motor mounts put the motor up way higher then I wanted the motor. So, with the help of a welder buddy away I went cutting a notch in the oil pan and modifying the James Duff motor mounts to get this motor to play limbo in the engine bay. So how low can you go 5.0?

It's closer but I still think the inch of body lift might have to stay on. I think you can do it with out the body lift but I don't think u can keep the ac at the same time. Russell is hoping we can take the body lift off as well but I don't know if this is gonna happen

Why do you want remove the lift, so it looks more stock like in the movie? If so, when is the bubble roof going in? Lol

Personally, I just don't like body lifts. PLUS, JPX looked better with the real suspension lift. :P

I want the body lift off so I could put the shackles and spacers back on. But I want everything to function on this explorer too so if it means body lift to make it 100% ill leave it on

Can't argue with that. Not sure why you think the spaces/shackles & body lift are mutually exclusive though. You can run the shackles/spacers either way.

I like the Trac with her shackles and body lift, but it is a personal preference. Is the JP going to sit level?

No, because now that I'm close to final fitment I will do a rebuilt on the trans since I do not know the condition and re-seal the motor. Once that is done I can start final bolt in place not to come back out. Then the fun will start with the plumbing of the truck.

So this project is about to go full steam ahead again.. Mainly Cause Bandit Customs has a paying 5.0 swap coming this summer and I need to have all the R&D done on the BC V-8 swap done. Randall this could help you in the future as well. As we plan to make this to where we can knock these out in a month on first gens (providing the parts are sourced a head of time).

I bought this earlier this week. for JPX...

Couple of reasons for going this route. Transfer case from a stock explorer bolts up, and atlas II transfer cases set up for the 1350 bolt pattern. Less drive shaft mods needed will off set the cost, and will make a better fit and finish in the end.

My plan on JPX is to use the 4r70w Auto trans. This trans is computer controlled and very reliable, with OD.

To install the Advance adapter you need the AOD to 4r70w shaft kit.
