Randall, great idea. There are definitely parts of the list we could break up amongst the group as would not be necessary for each and every one of us to acquire.

One of the key items in that list that I never really thought of, is bringing a spare key along. Great idea, I'll have to order a spare and since Russell has his handy machine, he can program the spare key for me So that way I do lose the spare and have a spare at the same time...

He can probably cut you one if you give him the vin Parker. He does work at a ford dealership. Wait, he can make one for the excursion too!!!!

Home depot will cut the key for free.

How did you want the structure to be like for the military? Like rank wise or something like that. Cause the air force doesn't have any cool names and job titles. Just gay shit.

I was thinking more like a motorcycle club structure, or ranking system. Just obviously without the illegal "duties"

Rankings to me is not the right word. It implies a chain of command, a hierarchy or a superiority level. I'm thinking more along the lines of duties/responsibilities. Like one guy is responsible for carrying the heavy machine gun, one the base, one the ammo. Or something. Still equal and peer level.

For example, someone would be responsible for checking safety items (proper tie points and strapping/winching techniques), one could be the water police (making sure everyone brought the appropriate amount of water for the conditions/length of trip), one could be responsible for navigation (knowing where we are supposed to go and taking steps to keep us on track, including backup navigation options like map reading) etc.

Again, just random ideas

Not sure how much if anything applies, but any interesting read nonetheless.

Is there not a chain of command with in the group already? You are the owner of the site, head of house. Rest of us, well minions? lol

But no I get what you're saying. Roles - designated roles that people are responsible for when we travel, offroad together. Which I think is a good idea, but to be honest, I don't think we have enough members right now with rigs that would be ready to really start designating roles?

Well not to take away from the thought process. Of course we can always go ahead and fill in rolls we know we're good at so far with who we have. But we just need to be aware we're all still responsible for 98% of what we do, if that makes sense. Till we get our rigs out there on the trails, and better known, and meet more people that can join the group to get ourselves known.
