Post up the sites you see that you like stuff like this, I'm curious to see what everyone thinks. I was just browsing after seeing Mikes post on FB about a food survival it (not sure I need to go that far). Kits you know what would have stuff incase someone cuts themselves, loses an arm and we have to sew it back on while on the trail so we can continue, that kind of stuff.
I just started browsing, came across this..

Yea I remember that post.
Mike did you ever get around to making a kit, if so what did you put in and what was the cost vs. buying a pre-made kit.
I'm thinking for our comping/off-road trips - small emergency first-aid kit, a small survival kit to hold me out on rations etc should something horribly go wrong, and I definitely need a new fire extinguisher for the Trac. As this is the year of hopefully making these runs, I need to get my arse in gear.

I like the price of the first, but going to have to consider the second as it comes with a mount.

This is my short term option to a crisis.
The Emergency Plus Food Insurance kit contains:
• Lightweight, weather-resistant backpack
• Cooking tin
• 2-week food supply, 3 meals per day
• Each filter treats up to 460 refills (100 gallons)
• First aid kit
• Reusable heat source
• Emergency all-in-one tool
• Flashlight/radio combo
• Waterproof matches
• Dust/pollutant masks (2)
I added a hemostat, suture material, and a flask of whiskey.

So... how much do you sell these kits for, an what kind of whiskey is included?

Hmmmm Lasagna in a bag. Sounds tasty lol. I was browsing their site the other day, packs are very pricy (or maybe I'm just being cheap about it lol). I've got to think maybe with a little research a kit could be put together that's more cost effective, and potentially last longer. Like their little cook tops appear to be one or two use, that kinda of thing is what I'm talking about.

Check out these guys for a emergency stove.
Yes, Food Insurance is pricy with their stuff. I bought mine on a day the had a sale.
I also have some stuff from these guys. It isn't to bad, but it is mostly soups.
