My buddy went to Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co. sometime ago. He said the 1836 was an excellent beer and worth trying.

I would agree. It's a pretty tasty beverage.
And for those of you that don't know whence it's name was given, 1836 was the year that the city of Houston was founded. It's supposed to represent 'a fresh start for beers in Houston.'
I do prefer their Gingerbread Stout, though.

If that Spec's doesn't have it, check D&Q Beer Station on Richmond Avenue. I know they got some in this morning, as well.
