Apparently the official site for the Granite Hill area, officially called Katemcy Rocks, is here

It does not have the group designation that was previously described. IT is $25 for a day per vehicle, or $40 for the weekend, which includes camping Friday and Saturday night. It is located right in the middle of Texas. Check out the link.

We have over 800 acres of granite rock providing an off-road experience like no other in the state. Called the "Moab of Texas", Katemcy Rocks presents diverse terrain for all levels of four wheelers, from stock vehicles to extreme rock crawlers.

There are multiple trails with numerous obstacles from easy to extreme. Some of the most popular trails are listed here. The ranch is only open to wheeling on the dates listed on the schedule/calendar. If you would like to coordinate either an open event (open to all wheelers) or closed event (only your group on the ranch), please contact us for arrangements and fees.

Open events require a list of at least 20 vehicles to wheel for two days. Standard weekend prices are listed here. Come see what "Rock Crawling Texas Style" is all about.



Manditory Minimum Vehicle Requirements to four wheel at Katemcy Rocks:
1. properly anchored tow hooks front and rear
2. seat belts for all vehicle occupants
3. a properly anchored roll bar, preferably a roll cage anchored to the frame (or full roof)

The following items are strongly suggested to make your trip more enjoyable:

tools
High Lift jack
self recovery equipment (tow strap, tree saver, snatch block, etc...)
winch
spare parts (driveshaft u-joints, axleshaft u-joints, hubs, driveshafts, tie rods, etc...)
first aid kit
tire plugs
fire extinquisher



Please note: the above items are absolute requirements, no exceptions. You will not be permitted to wheel without meeting these minimum requirements. A roll-over is a life threatening event, particularly on unforgiving granite. We have had several roll-overs at Katemcy Rocks. Thankfully, no one has been injured other than minor cuts and scrapes because they have had, and used, proper safety equipment including full roll cages.
