Yes, it is true. We are under the final negotiations to take over a shop in Austin. Our friend Greg, posted up in a myspace bulletin that he was ending the lease on his shop. He hasn't been running it for the last 18 months or so, but his buddy John has. Well, John is tired of the drive and his wife is ill, so June is his last month there. I contacted Greg immediately and got all the details.

I was kind of bad, but agreed to purchase all the equipment (lift, air compressor, tranny jack lift, oil recovery cans, couch, water fountain, desk, and misc. other things) without discussing it with Jeff, but it was pretty much too good of an offer to turn down.

We have talked about the shop all week and have agreed to throw caution to the wind and jump in with both sets of feet and try and make a go of this. This is our dream and our future, plus the cost of renting the shop is about 1/3 of what we had been looking at. We are meeting with the landlord and Greg, hopefully, next week to sign the new lease and we will be moving in July 1st.

The shop is 50 x 25 feet. Has a bathroom and 2 garage doors, one in front and one in back. We have been laughing that the one in front will be for our trucks and the one in back for the cars. You will see why when you look at the picture.

We probably won't have a Grand Opening party until August sometime, just to give Jeff time to get some work caught up and get us settled into the new surroundings. All the garage cam and rave lights will be moving to the new location.

We will be by appt. only for the first few months just to see how sniffing glue we get...but planning on being there after work during the week and on weekends.

congradulaions you guys. like Randall said, if any help is needed just let me know. i know memoriial day weekend i have plans with the fire department here, but anytime after or before that on weekends should be fine. oh and if you need anything done with the garage doors and maybe making them bigger let me know. hehe.

Yes I will be able to pick it up, the move to the shop will be a few weeks though.

Obviously that mean I should go ahead and shitcan the 14 bolt axle I have here, right?


I will also try and get a few more pics (better ones), although from what I hear, john has pretty much trashed the place, I hope not.

well iknew about the equipment, but thats awesome, i'm glad you guys are getting to do what you've always dreamed about, very jealous, there are only so many chances to make dreams come true, behind you both 100%, if there is anything i can do, please let me know.

about the axles/parts
you've held them this long why dont you sit on it and then can store it there, maybe to sell at some point in time, could weld up some kind of like, coke can cooler thing to stack axles on , lol, just a thought, but it was free and could prob bring a few bucks right.???

For Amber and JJ, the shop is about 45 minutes away from the house w/o traffic. It's 9906 Gray Blvd., Suite J, Austin, TX. It's very convenient to the Mopac & Hwy 183 interchange.

It looks like we will be signing the papers by the end of this week. Greg was supposed to meet us yesterday but got hung up at work (he's a firefighter). Been going back and forth through email with him today.

Did find out the lift is weighted at 9000 lbs, so there shouldn't be any problems with the Stang or the Exploders.

Congrats to both of you. It is always good to see positive opportunities present themselves to good, deserving people; it lets the rest of us know that our chance is coming too. I know that this will be a great thing for the both of you.
