Would they start to make any that fit our rigs?

They said they'd start out with 8 on 6.5 (which fits my rig) but said they'd add more later.

Also, looks like they are going to try to get these DOT approved. Which would be good for you mall crawlers out there. It should be an easier process with internal double beadlocks like these, then it has been for external type beadlocks. Also, these will have a safety bead on them, which 16.5's (like current H1 wheels) do not.

If memory served me right aren't beadlocks a SOB to maintain? Don't you have to retighten them or something like that every month or so?

I never did with my first set, which Justin is currently running. Have you noticed anything like that Justin? :crickets
I haven't had enough time with my current set to tell you one way or the other.

Well honestly, for what we plan on doing are beadlocks really all that necessary?

Yes. I can't really imagine off-roading without them.

Well then enlighten me, my only real off-roading experience/encounters is with John. Never needed them, I can guess for actual rock crawling that they would be useful, but for trail riding and just roaming around?

Even when I had only single (outer) beadlocks, I would lose the inner bead constantly. That's why I sold them in favor of double beadlocks (inner and outer).

That doesn't answer my question, for what we're really planning on doing what's the purpose?

Define 'we' I guess. I plan on needing them.
If there are three choices: 1) least effective 2) moderately effective 3) most effective, which do you choose?
1) regular wheels
2) single (outer bead) beadlocks
3) double (inner & outer) beadlocks

OK so what do you plan on needing them for? I've seen the trac go through some gnarly trails and never needing anything like that, just trying to gauge the need.

Well, I plan on needing them for off-roading. With beadlocks, you can run lower air pressure. Lower air pressure = more contact patch = more traction. Double beadlocks = even lower air pressure (even 0 is possible).
I don't know what to tell you other than my own experience. I've lost beads on regular rims, so I got beadlocks. Then I proceeded to lose inner beads, so I sold them and got double beadlocks. No more beads to lose. #winning

Fair enough. I've never seen the MTR come off so I guess that was what I was questioning.
