So I'm thinking that we need to create a garage cam at my house. I'm thinking it should be demon 4 x 4 sponsored by bandit customs. We would need to use the server demon 4 x 4. With a calendar of what we're working on. Thoughts and suggestions would be welcome

Does 'sponsored by Bandit Customs' imply an outlay of costs for the equipment at said location?

You can accomplish this with a cheap webcam or if your laptop has a built in cam.

'Sponsered by' means yes, Bandit Customs will be footing the cost of the equipment. We just need server space and maybe some HTML written. Here's my thought (As I have set up multiple streaming webcams and audio before)
1) 1 or 2 USB webcams streaming to a fixed Java based viewer
2) separate Audio streaming using a spare mic and mixer I have
3) built in Bandit Customs chat room designed for use on the same page as the cam(s) and audio.
Thoughts?

You'd want to watch out for the webcam's you pick you. Or make sure they have audio that can be disabled so you're not getting it all at once. If you're going to have several to chose from. Is it going to be a choose which cam you'd like to view type chat room, or small screens with multiple views?

Havent gotten that far yet. I would like to have Bandit-Customs.com online first before I start trying to build a web page. But yes, if multiple cams, they would all have the same audio source.

Looks pretty fancy. Does it broadcast over a static IP address?

I'm not sure, im reading the user manual now. Im only familer with Geovision devices, and I know they do. Im pretty sure you can set this up for static IP, I just need to figure out the way to convert that to a usable java streaming embedded webcam

Well, due to the recent break in at the house, we pulled the trigger and purchased an 8CH DVR system, with one camera being our garage cam.
So hopefully we can have a working prototype of a system up soon

all great ideas. I also have in the works a wireless camera that installs in the vehicle that when parked at the house, transmits wirelessly to a receiver base in the garage the image, that is then recorded to the DVR. So in essence, if a vehicle is broken into again, you have a better image of the theives and the recording is safe since it's not recorded in the vehicle itself (if they take/damage the camera)

Just an update, the 8CH DVR should be here today, so I will play with it this weekend and see what all I have to do to turn one of the cameras into a webcam
