So Im working on a DIY project and need to find a battery that will power . I was hoping this would provide the power I needed but I doubt it. Does anyone know anything about this stuff. I want the smallest/thinnest battery that would power this amp and 4 speakers.

What about using a marine battery, example one out of a wave runner ?

Are you basically trying to run this system as a standalone, i.e. outside of a vehicle's 12v system?

Yea he is. He's looking for a small thin battery such as those that go in a laptop.

I'm pretty sure that it would still need a 12v power source (like the one you listed), so any car battery should do the trick. The battery that you listed is only rated at 2.5 amp hours. A typical rating for a car battery, by comparison, is about 45 amp-hours, with some deep-cycle batteries being rated at or near 225 amp-hours. So the battery that you have listed will thusly last approxiamtely 1/18 of the time of a typical car battery to 1/90 of the time of a deep-cycle battery. Most radios pull 5-7 amps of continous draw. So you should get 30 minutes on your original battery.

Thanks Randall. Thats the information I was looking for. I went ahead and ordered the setup. Waiting for it to come in to see how long that battery will power the system.
