i will be investing in one of these. gets only a small amount of horsepower, adds over 100 ft/lbs of torque and lowers egt's up to 200 degrees. even been known to get better fuel economy.

No the new ficm needs to be programmed then flashed.

Hop to, that's doesn't take ford very long to do. That way you don't have to scoot around in an explorer or ranger (whatever we're calling it these days) without doors !

Was told by a friend that worked at ford to just put the good one in. It'll pop a check engine light that'll say Vin not matched or something to that nature and to just delete it. So I'll be doing that sometime this weekend and possibly drilling and tapping my exhaust manifold for the pyro meter for my edge cts monitor. Tired of having a $1000 piece of equipment sitting for over a year not being used.

The FICM will need to be programmed before installing it. No way around that. I've dealt with this on several occasions for work.
