So after this incident I think I will be set back on the mods for a little bit. But a list of things I wanna try and at least buy before the end of the year: opinions and advice wanted/encouraged B-)
Tires: 35s of course lol, I think I wanna stick with an all terrain since it is my DD.
Alcans: these are needed so my truck doesn't look like I'm hauling a bunch of fatties around lol. Thinking either 2 or 3 inch lift setting.
Rear locker: I really don't know much about this so tell me what I need to know. Lol

Maybe:
Gears: people on thenewx say that changing your ratio will help with bigger tires and all that jazz. Again something I really know nothing about lol.

And if you're still reading after this paper I just wrote...

Tim try to find out what gear ratio you have and we can help you select your new ratio for your 35's. You can have the locker put in at the same time you change the gears out.

There will either be an identification plate on the rear axle itself, or you can use the vim number to find out.

3.13's? Yuck! I'm surprised you are getting any power at all with 35's or anything else for that matter. Once you push the gearing up to or around 4.56, you'll see your engine get its cahone's back...providing of course that it had any to start with.

Edit: Ahh, I see you are not running 35's yet...bad juju if you don't regear first. It won't only be your engine that hates you, but also your transmission.

I have 3.73's with 33's and I'm not making any records in the quarter mile, not that I haven't tried . Fortunately its not so bad when you are up to speed, its just getting there that takes time. Did have Red up to 95 for a while with no problems, but it took about 30 seconds to get there from 70.

Ehh, true. I guess I'm ingrained with Ford. Still the application of gear ratios vs. tire size and the impact on the rest of the drivetrain isn't that different. Unless Nissan has come out with a way to ignore physics.

I think around a 3.73 would be good for your Tim.

3.73 isn't available for his axle. (nearest match would be 3.69). You guys shouldn't just guess when making recommendations for other people. Do some research. Nissan engines operate in a different RPM range than explorers.

What was the stock tire size?

This is the formula you'll want to use:

New tire diameter x original ratio / Old tire diameter
