Fair enough. When I've been camping and we've stayed in a Cabin, it's just a room with bunk beds and an AC unit, then you have your grill outside etc. So that's why I was wondering.

Yeah, that's how the ones I got are. But there are still pretty nice, shared restrooms within walking distance.

What is the route yall usually take? and we have to reserve cabins? Can I just sleep in the truck?

This is the route that I have taken, and most likely will take again. Obviously, yours would be a bit different due to departure location.



You can sleep in your truck if you want. You could simply reserve a tent spot at the KOA for a lot less money. Otherwise, I'm not too sure that they, or anyone else, would take kindly to you parking on their property for free.

Lubbock is approximately 8 hours and 38 minutes from my home address, and could be a possible meet up location. I'm sure that we could all share a hotel room or two. Lubbock would leave us with 11 hours, 9 minutes of drive time the following day, which is pretty manageable. Austin to Lubbock is 6 hours, 7 minutes. I'd be wanting to get the first leg done On Wednesday, May 8th, to arrive the evening of Thursday, May 9th in time for dinner. I'd want to roll out from the hotel at 7ish in the morning.

Another option is Abilene. Abilene is 6 hours, 15 minutes from my home address, and would leave 13 hours, 36 minutes the following day.

4 people: $88.95 - $96.95 per day ($460.75 total, $115.19 each)
6 people: $100.95 - $108.95 per day ($520.75 total, $86.80 each)

Kottage:
2 people: $105.95 - $115.95 per day ($549.75 total, $274.88 each)
4 people: $117.95 - $127.95 per day ($609.75 total, $152.44 each)

Lodge:
2 people: $156.90 - $176.90 per day ($824.50 total, $412.25 each)
4 people: $168.90 - $188.90 per day ($884.50 total, $221.13 each)
6 people: $180.90 - $200.90 per day ($944.50 total, $157.42 each)

Note: 10% savings with VKR card (which costs $24). The fewer total reservations that are made the less of these cards that has to get purchased, and thus the larger net discount.

We've got too many people to fit into one cabin as is. McFarlin already reserved his. If I were you, I'd talk to Kris, his dad, and Dan about sharing a cabin. I'll have the wife, and possibly my pops (and maybe even mom). So that sounds like a logical break down to me.
