Project Upgrade the brakes 1992 Navajo

With not being satisfied with the braking on my 92 Mazda Navajo I will be making some changes. These changes include:

95-01 Explorer brake calipers front
95-01 Explorer pads
95-97 Ranger steering knuckles
95-01 Explorer brake booster and master cylinder

As I go along and install the set up ill take more pictures

Here is the cleaned knuckle with the new ball joints pressed in.

I just got a 95-01 master cylinder myself. Any differences between the booster between the 95-01 and the 91-94? Also, do those knuckles bolt up to the TTB 35, or do you have to modify anything?

I'm not sure there is much if any difference in the 95-01 booster except the amount of vacuum that is being pulled from the motor. These knuckles will attach to the Dana 35 with out modification

Are you going to spray the knuckles black? Is the rear drum or disc? If drum going to upgrade to disc?

The Navajo already has a 98 explorer disc brake rear end. I will also paint the set up

So I spent my birthday installing all of this on my Navajo.

When well with a few snags. First snag was the 95+ explorer booster won't bolt in so I'm using the 92 booster still. I used a 95-97 master cylinder it bolts right in and has the same low level connector.

Also when I was ready to install the rotors I found the 92 rotors had a different off-set. So this meant I had to purchase 95-97 ranger rotors.

I haven't bled the brakes yet so I can't give you a report yet on the improvement. But here are some pics of it all installed

After driving it braking is much better a lot less brake fade and the master cylinder is powering the rear brakes like they are suppose to, and above all it stops on a dime.

Stopping is always a bonus. Glad to see it worked out. Going to do this to any others?
