Got a call from Chris at torch monkey yesterday, said the steering box won't work that I provided. With the way the motor sits they'd have to mount it too low and it wouldn't be a safe place he said to have it. So he recommended one off a Toyota 4runner that mounts in the outside of the frame rail. Said he'd be able to order it and have it Saturday so he could keep working.

That's why I suggested the oil filter relocation but guess that's not the route he wants to go

Yea he told me even doing the relo would not allow for enough room for the steering box as it would hang down way too low and get caught while offroading. He said he wouldn't feel comfortable mounting it that low, so that was good enough for me. So either way, looked like I was going to have to either pay for the relo kit or this. So which ever. I've got a steering box for sale now lol.

Yea, after I posted that Randall sent me a text letting me know they had posted some new photos. Looks like we're really close to completion where she's at.

I was close by Torch Monkey today so I stopped in and chatted with Chris.

No real work done since the pictures he posted last. He's waiting on two parts for the steering to finish it up. I asked if it was gonna be done by Friday, he said depends in the parts. Most likely it's not going to be done so Ill continue to wait.

I was worries at first about that cross member but Randall said not to worry, and kris brought up a good point about being able to service the pan, so I feel better about it.
