Alcan custom rear springs

I got a quote for some Alcan rear springs, 2" lift and custom tailored to added weight of tools, gear, parts and rear bumper w/ tire carrier for $195 per side. I could also order them with orbital eyes in the springs for an additional $65 per eye. This would require new spring mounts and shackles, so I will probably just go with the poly-eye. Also, I could custom order the springs longer and move the rear shackle farther to the rear, to provide more flex. Something to think about. <p></p><i></i>

That is a really good price on custom springs. I'll have to look into those when the time comes. <p></p><i></i>

I am going to get the springs made three inches longer than stock. In combination with longer shackles, it will add quite a bit of downtravel. The extra length of the shackle will be cancelled out (as far as lift height is concerned) by the fact that it will be at a more obtuse angle than a stock shackle with stock leaves. A longer leaf is of course able to extend and compress more than a shorter one, so the extra travel should be pretty noticable. <p></p><i></i>

Are you gonna try out that Bronco Upper shock mount thing from complete off road or are you going to build your own upper mount from that tube you have. I have to take a closer look at those mounts that you are talking about, but we'll definately have to work out something. <p></p><i></i>
