Wow this is an old thread, but it's still the topic of the same subject.

Swiped a chainsaw from work yesterday, and also borrowed George's dump trailer to put behind the Rat Tractor.

as I was reading above, some of the remains from that first inital cut were still in the corner of the back yard where Junk Majic used to be, it is all gone now, I burned ALL OF IT!

I also trimmer the trees in the front and side yards as they have been growing and I burned all of that too.

Took out three more trees and trimmer out some others.

George's dump trailer came in real handy yesterday, and I'll prolly go get it again today to move and transport some ground covering to the spot where Loris boat used to be, to fill in a really bad low spot.

I also took the chainsaw and manicured some stumps that I had created and others that were there from the build of the house and lopped them off so that you could mow over them without fucking up the blades.

The RT makes it a lot eaiser to mow the side yard where all the ruts are, but I wish it had a selectable locker in it, as a few times it would get in a situation where it would flex out and do the one wheel peel in the air, I would have to shift my wieght and rock in order for it to get traction again, it does have a really nice 1st gear crawl though.

Funny how when your not a home owner some of the things you never realised what you would need for yard work, weedeeaters, pole saws, sharp shooter, spade, square shovel, ridged and soft rakes, hoe, pruners, sheers, shreader, mower, tractor, trailer, pick-up truck, hand shovel, hand rake, speer, burn bin, seed speader, eyeware, creativity, vision, energy and muscel.

Pending on a few things today, I will also try and get the foundation for the long awaited 8' x 10' tool building build and laid out, then I will assemble multi sections inthe garage so that I can take them out on another day and start erecting the building so I can get even more shit out of the garage for more room to work, this area where the building goes has already been cleared and the foundation block moved over there, they just have to be leveled.

Also today I have about 14 tree trunks from trees I have taken out that need to be cut up for fire wood and that will allow for more land cover to be gone, anyone need some hot burning cedar firewood??

and before it's posted, yes when I get to a certian point today I'll get my wide angle lense out and snap some pics, but then again, you notice a difference, but it's when you see it in person that will knock your socks off, the pics work, but it not nearly and spectacular as it is in person.

Out of all the brush I have burned in the furture pond, the ash I will take and use it for fill in the ruts in the side yard, from what I have read the ash is a great source for fertelizer, I have the 8' x 8' x 2.5' deep bin almost half way full of ash, I'll wet it down to make a mooshy paste and then shovel it into the dump trailer and transport it to the side yard.

After that I'll clean and snad blast the pond, use a come-a-long and flip it on it's side and hand dig a 8' x 8' x 2' deep hold for it to be dropped into, using the dirt to fill in around it and other low spots ot ruts that need it, then I will coat the inside and paint it meduim blue.

More plans are to burry 110v and take it out to the "picnic" area and put in an outlet/light switch on a tree and off that also run some ambiant/indirect lightning in the trees for night time hanging out back there.

Well it's 8am, so I'd better get on with it, daylight is awasting :wink

DJ and Jeff have worked very hard today. They got everything burned and the hole under the Cheetah (old boat) is filled in now. The yard looks so awesome now.

And being the good neighbor that Jeff is, he even went and mowed Joel and Lana's yard today. Joel had surgery on both of his arms so Jeff went and helped him out today. But shhhh, don't tell anyone. He has to keep his rep in the neighborhood. :flipoff

Suicide is about the only way to describe putting up a steel building by yourself.

Like the destructions say, you really need someone else to help you hold stuff in place, and all the parts are razor sharp, I must have lost a pint of blood aside from mutilating my fleash from the elbows down with lasarations that leaked about nonstop.

I still have to put on the roof, doors and install the floor.

There must be 50 Kagillion screws in this bulding kit.

Yes, Kris and Jared, this is the same 8' x 10' building I bought over a year ago that has been stored in the back of the Navajo.

But it's nice to know that when it's done I'll be able to get some more crap out of the garage for more room.

I had cut out one tree that was dead and a few limbs to make a nice little cove for it to fit into, and be some what hidden from view for the most part.

As soon as I have more coffee and cookies, to replenish the blood I lost, about a half day's or so worth of work and it should be finished.

Kris, if you wouldn't mind, please find outhow much the shelf kit is for the LW108 shed, and weather it fits the back 10' wall or the 8' side walls, I can see that these will be needed.

TSC and HF both sell solar shed lights for about $20, I can see this will be handy.

Are you planning on cutting down 7 cedar trees spaced a foot apart at once. Looks like a little more then you need for the job at hand LOL....

Well the 8' x 10' shed is finally completely assembled other than putting in plywood for the floor and getting a solar interior llight, this all happened sunday along with the 14 full size cedar tree trunks that are now nothing more than fire wood, all cut up.

I kept one dump trailer full and took the rest to George's for it to be burned.

Lastly for this phase is raking the chips from the chainsaw for cedar mulch, and raking up the trash/leaves accosiated with where the tree trunks were, there is moving the rest of the brick pile to under the rest of the shed and whats still left over, making a pile behind it for later use somewhere else.

Then getting 4 16"x16" pavers for in front of it along with some more curved scallops like we have been using for the garden rings around the trees to build two mini gardens on either side of the pavers in front of the shed.

Image

I have one more tree ring to set in the ground and an oval shaped set-up around the septic system to make it look more appealing, all of which get cedar mulch and little fowers, like the rest in the yard.

I seeded last week early thinking it was going to rain, but nope, so it's supposed to rain this week, meaning maybe by seeds with take and grow in the sections of the back yrad where it's been cleared.

I also noticed I just missed a TSC sale on T-posts and barbed wire :( for the back parimeter of the yard (see illegal drug thread)

Also the ash from all the burning will start being put into the ruts in the side yard too, this will free up the furture pond for me to use a come-a-long and flip it up on it's side and dig that 7.5'x7.5' squared by 2' deep hole that it will set in, then clean the inside, seal it, and paint it a dark/medium blue.

After some debating we may just decide to do an island deck, which will have some form of pavers going to it from the patio and then also to the future picnic area (why the intrest in solar path lighting), but will surround the whole recesed pond/off center like.

This will skirt the building permit for being connected to the house and will be easier to build too.

I also have to get on the roof and remove that unsightly satalite dish and all the acco. coax cable that goes with it and ditch that crap.

Name for the shed? Hells Tool Box?

So for the most part, other than the 16"x16" pavers down either side of the drive way and a new rustic style mail box and post the front of the house is DONE!

Although we did discus psudeo shutters off the office window.

Well looks like this is gonna be a hot miserable summer, Lori has already started to water the yard.

I've gotten two great cuts, but I'm seeing brown/burnt spots in the yard, I guess if it's gonna stay a nice looking yard it's goning to have to get watered, Lori suggested a traveling sprinkler, My dad used to use these.

While paging trough a catalog at work I ran across this model and though it was appropirate
